One day to go

Independence Day is celebrated to commemorate the struggle of our ancestors who left no stone unturned to get independence from the British rule. The country came into being after a long struggle. Many people sacrificed their lives so that the young generation can see the dawn of the freedom. However, it is saddening that the independent Pakistan forgot true meaning of independence. Our nation is not progressive. The people have typical mindset that doesn’t register new ideas. In our country, sharing thoughts can be a crime.

Despite being an independent nation, Pakistanis do not have freedom of speech and freewill. Students cannot choose a career for themselves. The nation is blindly after good grades and top percentage, ignoring the creativity of students. Also, the Quaid wanted to see a country where all communities live in peace. But in Pakistan, the rights of minority groups are not safeguarded. To make Pakistan a successful and developed country, it is necessary to promote peace and harmony.
