LANDIKOTAL: Authorities at Torkham foiled a bid to smuggle gold and currency to Pakistan and arrested a woman, sources said on Monday.
They said an Afghan woman identified as Mehrunisa was stopped at Torkham border.
During search, the sources said, 27 tolas of gold, 1000 Saudi riyals and Rs1500 Afghan currency was recovered from her. She was arrested and shifted to Army Garrison in Landikotal for investigation.
