Man kills sister for ‘honour’

KASUR: A man allegedly gunned down his sister for honour at Canada Colony in Chunian police limits on Thursday. Shan doubted the character of his sister Ghazala that often led to an exchange of arguments between them. On the day of the incident, Shan allegedly shot his sister Ghazala dead after an exchange of hot words with her over the issue.

 

 Woman among six killed in Bannu accident

BANNU: Six people, including a woman and a minor girl, died and 11 others were injured in a road accident at Indus Highway Chowk in the precincts of Domail Police Station on Thursday, official sources said.

A passenger vehicle travelling collided with another vehicle, leaving six people dead. Amina Bibi, Muhammad Imran, driver Gul Aslam and Jibran were among the deceased.The bodies and the injured including Farhan, Naseemullah, Hakomat Khan, Muhammad Munir, Anar Gul, Saidullah, Haider Ali, Wasim and Noorminda Bibi were taken to the Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital where condition of some of the injured was stated to be precarious.The bodies, after autopsy in the hospital, were handed over to the bereaved families for burial. The police registered the case and started investigation.

 

PHC CJ visits judicial complex site in Mansehra

MANSEHRA: Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Yahya Afridi visited the site proposed for the setting up of judicial complex here on Thursday.Local judges received the chief justice upon his arrival at the district court premises.The lawyer community in their meeting with chief justice demanded that the proposed judicial complex should be built at its existing place, instead of newly selected piece of land. “We have demanded the chief justice not to relocate our courts and build judicial complex at its existing court premises,” Fahad Habib, the GS of District Bar Association, told reporters.
