Digital transformation in classrooms workshop held

Roots International Schools (RIS) in collaboration with Microsoft and Training & Development Consultants hosted 3-days Digital Transformation in Classrooms Training Workshop from June 16 to 19, at Roots International Schools, Wellington Campus.  Fifteen teachers attended this workshop.

It is the time that our education sector also get use of Cloud Based Technology i.e. Office 365 and 21st Century learning tools designed specifically to meet the need of learners, this training was designed for teachers and leadership team to meet the need of performing different Classrooms & School tasks effectively through Microsoft based tool.

These tools help teachers & Students to Connect and collaborate with international educator community, find training and lessons, and earn badges and certificates on this personalized hub created for educators by Microsoft. Effective Classroom teaching and learning strategies will be share with teachers with the main objective of engaging the students in the classrooms. Cloud based technologies enables teachers to save their most important data through online storage space and data backup recovery services.

They will also be able to make digital presentations that make their work easier and professional. A tool of digital notebook will make them able to transform their approach from paper base environment to paperless environment thus enable them to change their teaching approach from teacher centric to student centric.

This training was delivered by Waqas Shafique, he is an International speaker, Certified Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, Trainer and Fellow, Microsoft Trainings Consultant, co-author, Blog writer, academician and educational technology Master trainer.

It was a valuable training which provided hands on practice and know-how of latest technology. At the end of this workshop, the trainer has assigned a task for the participants to create and submit a project using tools and methodologies that they have learned during this workshop. By submitting project, they will get nominated for Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Expert 2017-18.
