Solid waste management
The people of Islamabad are noticing an unusual odour coming out of the garbage dumped near the Khanna Pul. This unhygienic condition is not limited to Khanna Pul, but various places of the federal capital are facing the same issue. The unpleasant smell at these places is so unbearable that a person cannot pass the area without having his nose covered. Unattended garbage is one of the reasons for environmental pollution.
Residents and shopkeepers near the area have confirmed that the condition is the same for the past several months. The authorities are not paying attention to this issue. People are facing this problem because of the authorities’ negligence. The concerned authorities should take serious action to resolve this situation at the earliest.
