According to some media reports, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah made surprise visits to different examination centres in Karachi. The recently held SSC and HSC examinations in different cities of the province highlighted the widespread ‘copy culture’. The CM vowed to curb cheating culture and ordered to launch a crackdown on the cheating mafia. Although CM’s efforts are commendable, copy culture is not likely to resolve merely because of CM’s surprise visits.
This problem has paralysed the entire education system, resulting in the poor quality of education in the province. The need of the hour is to bring reforms at a primary level. If corrective measures are not introduced in the education system, Sindh will lag behind in education.
