Four people die in road accidents

SUKKUR: Four people were killed in different road accidents. According to reports, two motorcyclists were hit by a jeep in Tharparkar on Monday. Both of them died after being hit by a jeep. The bodies of Abdul Jabbar and Kali Khan were handed over to their relatives. On the other hand, Muhammed Usman Soomro was killed when his bike slipped on a road. In another accident, motorcyclist Ghulam Yaseen was killed in Kandhkot after a coach collided with his motorcycle.

Gas, power loadshedding in Pakpattan

PAKPATTAN: People have been facing a number of problems due to unscheduled loadshedding of electricity and gas in the city and adjoining areas. Talking to newsmen here on Monday, the people said that the loadshedding had made their lives miserable. They said that power supply remained suspended for several hours without any prior notice. The power shutdown had paralysed routine activities of life in the area, they added. The people said that the gas loadshedding was creating problems for the women as they were unable to prepare food. They have demanded the government take steps to end the power and gas loadshedding.

 

Rickshaw driver dies in TT Singh

TOBA TEK SINGH: An auto-rickshaw driver died when his speeding vehicle overturned on the Gojra-Samundri Road on Sunday night. Noor Ahmad of Chak 46/GB was carrying tents for a marriage function when his rickshaw overturned and he died on the spot.

 

MNA’s relative murdered in Pakpattan

PAKPATTAN: A 55-year-old relative of MNA Nazeer Arian was murdered by unidentified people in Arifwala on Sunday night.  Muhammad Afzal Arian was alone in the house. When his son Awais and other family members returned to the house, they found Afzal dead. His hands and feet were tied with a rope while mouth was covered with tape. The police have registered a murder case against unidentified accused on the report of Awais and started investigation.

 

Liquor recovered, drug peddlers held

PAKPATTAN: Police on Monday arrested several drug peddlers and recovered liquor and narcotics from their possession. Police arrested accused Nawaz of Chak 40/SP with 10 litre liquor, accused Mazhar of Malikai Taro with four litre liquor, accused Nadeem with 105 gram charas, accused Umar of Railway Gate, Arifwala, with 280 gram charas, accused Ali Raza of Railway Gate, Arifwala, with 200 grams charas and accused Naveed of Burewala Chowk, Arifwala, with 260 gram charas. Police have registered cases against the accused.

 

Wheat harvester kills boy in Okara

OKARA: A teenager boy died when a wheat combine harvester hit him in Chak 5/GD on Monday. Rizwan Kamyana was working in the wheat fields when the harvester hit him and he died instantly.
