A robber was shot dead by a security guard of a private company late Wednesday night.
SHO Gulberg Majid Alvi said two bikers were heading towards the private firm, Chatkharay, after looting a fruit vendor who was present near the company’s office.
When the security guard saw the suspects coming towards the office, he fired at them and they retaliated. As a result, the company’s owner, Faheem Fazal, suffered bullet wounds.
As the gun battle continued, one assailant was fatally injured while the other fled from the spot.
The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where the man was identified as Sohail, 25, son of Ghulam Muhammad.
The SHO said the owner of the company sustained bullet wounds, but he was out of danger. A case has been registered and investigations are underway.
