Accountability of looters to end blame game in politics; current year is year of fulfillment of promises made with people

LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that serving the masses is our mission and under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the PML-N government has successfully moved forward its agenda of public service.

The PML-N government has respected the mandate given by the people in the 2013 election and the current year is the year of the fulfillment of the promises made with the people.

The chief minister said that completion of the ongoing energy projects would end outages at the end of this year.

He said the PML-N government under the honest leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would continue its journey of serving the masses and under his leadership Pakistan would soon become a great country of the world. He said the educated and enlightened people of Pakistan would reject those who were against their progress and development in the upcoming elections of 2018.

The chief minister expressed these words while talking to a delegation of PML-N here on Sunday. He said that looters of national resources deserved severe punishment for causing a huge loss to the national exchequer in the name of development projects.

He said the corrupt mafia with the help of unscrupulous elements in the government had looted development funds mercilessly during the era of former rulers and they would realise the gravity of their crime when they would face imprisonment.

He said the plundering of national wealth and greediness of former rulers led the country to darkness. He said the time has come to hold all these corrupt people accountable for their corruption and dishonesty. He said the objective of the PML-N government is to serve the masses. Those who always criticise public welfare projects just for the sake of criticism are enemies of public welfare. He said strict accountability of those who plundered national wealth would end this politics of blame game.

He said resources of Pakistan have been mercilessly looted and plundered in the past, but the looters of national resources now demand eradication of corruption and delivering lectures on corruption day and night.

During the dictatorship, then rulers did not leave any opportunity to plunder the national wealth. The supporters of Pervez Musharraf gave contract of treasures of Chiniot to their favourite company without any tender process. He said these people plundered public wealth in the name of development projects and looted billions of rupees from the Punjab Bank.
