Three armed women kill blasphemy accused

Assailants enter house of the accused, commit murder and then surrender themselves to police

SIALKOT: A man, who was an accused-turned proclaimed offender in a sacrilege case, was shot dead on Wednesday by three masked armed women who later surrendered themselves to police.

According to police Razia Bibi, Amna Bibi and Afshan Bibi in Nangal Mirza village entered the house of  Fazal Abbas, 50, and shot him wounding him seriously over the sacrilege issue in Pasroor Saddar Police Station’s precincts. He was being shifted to a local hospital by Rescue 1122 but he succumbed to his injuries. 

Later, these women, who are from Raiah Khas village of Narowal district, surrendered themselves to the police who started investigation. A case under sections 295-A, 295-C had been registered against the Fazal with Pasroor City Police Station in 2004, but he fled abroad and was later declared a proclaimed offender. It is said that Fazal had recently returned to Pakistan and obtained bail before arrest.
