Pakistan bag ASF Award
KARACHI: Pakistan’s squash team has been declared the outstanding team of 2016 by Asian Squash Federation (ASF).
Pakistan’s men’s team won the ASF Award for the Outstanding Team of the Year last week.
However, Pakistan could not win awards in other categories such as performance award, outstanding performers in juniors, and in coaches’ category.
As per the complete list of winners, the Dato Alex Lee Award for outstanding performance of the year (senior) was given to Max Lee of Hong Kong, China, and Annie Au of Hong Kong, China, in men and women categories, respectively. The Hassan Musa Award for outstanding performance of the year (junior) was given to Ng Eain Yow of Malaysia and Sivasangari Subramaniam of Malaysia in boys and girls categories, respectively.
The ASF Award for outstanding women’s team of the year was given to Hong Kong.
Cyrus Poncha of India won the Coach of the Year Award and Ong Beng Hee of Malaysia clinched the Junior Coach of the Year Award.
The Award for Development Coach of the Year was given to Lim Chee Ming of Macau, China.
The Coaches Certificate of Recognition was given to Wong Wai Chung of China and Mosoud Ghareh Ziaeddini of Iran.
