Says country’s foreign policy flawed; Islamabad must establish good relations with all countries
NOWSHERA: JUI-F head Fazlur Rehman on Sunday said Pakistan’s foreign policy was flawed and the country was always used by others for their proxy wars.
He said Islamabad will have to establish good relations with all the countries. Speaking at a press conference at Azakhel where arrangements were being made for the upcoming centenary conference of the JUI-F, he said the country was passing through a critical time in view of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
“Many world powers are conspiring to sabotage this game-changer project,” he noted with concern. Fazl said he foresaw difficulties for Pakistan as the country would face problems at its western border.
“Unfortunately, Afghanistan is under the influence of India. Pakistan needs to exercise caution and remain steadfast,” he stressed. He said Islamabad would have to further cement its ties with Beijing in view of the challenges the country was facing.
He said the West and the US were conspiring against Pakistan. He said the seminaries had always raised voice against terrorism, but it seemed the prime minister was not aware of it. He said Pakistan couldn't jack up its GDP and the country depended on the World Bank and International Monitory Fund (IMF) loans.
