Expat’s house retrieved
LAHORE
The Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC), Punjab, has helped an expatriate Pakistani based in the USA in retrieving his Rs 120 million house from the illegal occupation of his close relative after 14 years.
OPC Vice-Chairperson Shaheen Khalid Butt said that Imtiaz Ahmed Syed of Jersy City, USA, had lodged a complaint that his close relative hasd grabbed his 2 kanal house in Canal Bank, Johar Town, Lahore.
His relative had requested for a temporary stay of three months but afterward refused to vacate the house. Shaheen Khalid said that the complaint was referred to District Overseas Pakistanis Committee (DOPC), Lahore, which, after continuous efforts, got the house vacated and handed over its possession to its original owner. Imtiaz Ahmed Syed, lauding the efforts of OPC, said that establishment of OPC was a revolutionary step of the Punjab chief minister to resolve the issues of expatriate Pakistanis.
