The Punjab government Monday approved twelve development schemes in different development sectors with an estimated cost of Rs 4896.198 million.
These schemes were approved in the 33rd meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of current fiscal year 2014-15 chaired by the Punjab Planning and Development Board Chairman Muhammad Irfan Elahi.
A spokesman of the P&D said Punjab Secretary, P&D, Waseem Ajmal Ch, members of Planning & Development Board, Punjab secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant departments attended the meeting.
The approved development schemes included preparation of master plan for water supply, sewerage, drainage and groundwater management system for Sheikhupura, Kasur and Nankana Sahib districts (PC-II) at the cost of Rs 159.28 million, replacement of outlived sewer lines in Wasa, Multan at the cost of Rs 1000.213 million, comprehensive sewerage / drainage scheme, Taunsa Sharif including tuff tiling of streets at the cost of Rs 495.667 million, rehabilitation/ extension of sewerage/drainage system of Mian Channu City district Khanewal at the cost of Rs 299.976 million, Urban Drainage PCC and Brick Pavement Scheme Kasur City District Kasur at the cost of Rs 457.681 million, Rehabilitation of Eastern Sadiqia Canal RD 0+000 to 245+000 (Balance Work), Bahawalnagar at the cost of Rs 257.149 million, Construction of Alternate Buildings in DG Khan Canals Division DG Khan (revised) at the cost of Rs 288.739 million, widening/improvement of road Gujranwala Bypass Awan Chowk to Baghwala Chowk via Nowshera Virkan Karyal Road length-44.00 k-m, in Gujranwala (revised) at the cost of Rs 327.439 million, construction of Bridge over River Chenab at Shahbazpur to connect district Gujrat with Sialkot and Gujrat districts (PC-II) at the cost of Rs 15.000 million, Construction of metalled road from Benazir Road at railway crossing 1/4/L to Renala Khurd along railway line) via Education University Okara (Kot Bari Bridge to Renala Khurd) via Education University along LBDC (L-12.50 km) district Okara at the cost of Rs 179.107 million, Construction of Road from Jinnah Chowk to Northern Bypass to Multan Public School and Bosan Road to Mattital Road, length-11.44 in District Multan at the cost of Rs 1107.607 million and widening and improvement of road from Lodhran Bypass, Basti Pacca, Mouza Hussainabad, Basti Muradwala, Haveli Naseer khan to Hasilwala district Lodhran, length-18.00 km at the cost of Rs 308.340 million.
