French forensic training course concludes

A one-week training course on forensic science and evidence collection techniques was conducted at the Forensic Division, Police Headquarters, Garden.

Assistant IG Javed Akbar Riaz, head of the Sindh Police Forensic Division, said that an expert from the French National Police Forensic Department conducted the training.

Twenty-five forensic experts and crime scene investigators of th Sindh Police took part in the training. The lead trainer was a French police officer with many years of experience in the field of policing and forensics.

He was impressed with the level of expertise of Pakistani forensic experts and wished to come back with some advance training session in future.

Assistant IG Riaz said that this was the beginning of collaboration between the French Police and the Forensic Division of the Sindh Police. 

The French Ministry of Interior has showed its interest in supporting the Forensic Division in terms of training and equipment.

A certificate distribution ceremony was held at the Forensic Division on March 22. 

Sanaullah Abbasi, additional inspector general of police, AIG Forensic Javed Akbar Riaz, the police attache of the Consulate General of France in Karachi and the French forensic expert distributed certificates among the successful participants of the training course.
