Science enclave master plan reviewed

A meeting to review progress in the revised master plan of 'Science Enclave' which would be constructed at Thokar Niaz Baig, Lahore, was held in Civil Secretariat on Friday.

Punjab Additional Chief Secretary Shamail Ahmad Khawaja presided over the meeting. PAFDA Director General Dr Muhammad Ashraf Tahir gave briefing on the structure designing of the project.

The project of “Science Enclave” comprises a spacious auditorium, Admin Block of Punjab Agriculture Food and Drug Authority (PAFDA) and a latest testing laboratories spreading over an area of 64 Kanal of land adjacent to Punjab Forensic Science Agency at Thokar Niaz Baig, Lahore. Three separate laboratories to test chemical fertilisers/pesticides, food items and drugs for human consumption will be accommodated in the seven-floor building of the Science Enclave. Initial cost Rs 1.5 billion has been estimated for its construction, whereas, more than Rs 4 billion would be spent on procurement of state-of-the-art equipment for the Science Enclave.
