Islamabad: Showing firmness to their basic objective of maintaining law and order and ensure peace in the city, personnel of Islamabad police successfully handled security affairs during the 13th Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) summit.
Effective coordination among all wings of Islamabad police including operational police, CID Department, Security Division, Special Branch and Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) was ensured which resulted in the successful handling of security and other affairs in the city. Minister for Interior Ch. Nisar Ali Khan chaired the session which finalised the security and traffic arrangements and entire force worked like a team along with Rangers and other law enforcement agencies.
Islamabad Police is performing various kinds of duties and accomplishing their responsibilities with best of their capabilities. "Successful handling of this international event is reflection of best performance of Islamabad Police which is always committed to provide safety to the citizens," source said quoting SSP (Operations) Sajid Kiani. He said that our force is fully committed in performing their duties and law and order situation has also improved a lot due to the best strategy and elaborate security arrangements. For this international event, he said that police officers stood shoulder to shoulder with their ‘jawans’ in ensuring peaceful handling and provided them guidance by remaining present at the spots. "With the devotion of our ‘jawans’, Islamabad Police has become a role model and remained successful in maintaining peace and tranquillity during various events and ECO summit too," he maintained. It is our great achievement to successfully deal such important congregation, he added.
