PAKISTAN Muslim League-Q President and former Prime Minister Senator Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi have demanded that blasphemous sketches issue should be raised at the international level.
In a joint statement, they said that OIC should play its role and the Muslim countries should forge unity in their ranks over this matter. Muslim countries, including Pakistan were protesting against this occurrence, no words strong enough to condemn and deplore it, they added.
They said Islam is a religion of peace, we have to make this point clear to the world that the Muslim is not an extremist, the objective behind these blasphemous sketches was to challenge the honour of the Muslims, we want to make it clear to the publishers of blasphemous sketches that the respect and honour of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is safe and will remain so forever.
They said the PML-Q would stage protest outside the Senate, National and Provincial Assemblies and demanded that the magazine which had published blasphemous sketches should immediately be closed down.
