SWABI: A three-day festival titled “All Pakistan TechFest” concluded at the Ghulam Ishaq Khan (GIK) Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology here on Wednesday.
Academia, representatives of industry and students from all over the country attended the event, organised by the GIK Institute’s Society of Mechanical Engineering of Pakistan (SMEP).
The organisers said the gathering was aimed at providing a platform to the faculty, industry and students to interact with one another and frame engineering courses according to the requirements of the country’s needs.
Waleed Iqbal, grandson of national poet Dr Allama Iqbal said the students should concentrate on creative activities.Saad Saleem, a motivational speaker from Karachi and owner of various software houses, said that students should stick to the principle of hard work and learning.
SMEP president Hasnain Raza and Ahmad Sachal also spoke on the occasion. Waleed Iqbal gave away shields to the participants who showed good performance in the TechFest.
