Under-age smoking
The harmful effects of smoking cigarette are not hidden. Excessive smoking can lead to cancer which can cause death. It is visibly upsetting that in Pakistan, minor children are also found smoking cigarettes. This requires immediate attention. A lot of kiosks have been set up within the vicinity of schools. On their way back to home, children buy cigarette from such booths. The shopkeepers sell a packet of cigarette to young children without protest. Keeping in view the dangers of smoking, this shouldn’t be the case. The shopkeepers should strictly be prevented from selling such harmful product to under-age children.
Smoking is bad for everyone, but at least children should be protect from this harmful substance. The government should take safety measures and revoke licences of any shop which sells tobacco and related products to children or operate within the vicinity of schools.
