Barbaric Indian attacks on LoC
With the passage of time, the frequency of Indian attacks on the Line of Control has increased. The recent targeting of a Pakistani bus that killed 10 passengers, frequent shelling at homes of Pakistani civilians, killing more than two dozen of them, and using heavy artillery barrages at the Pakistan Army posts that led to the martyrdom of several soldiers, show the Indian frustration.
In an unfortunate incident, 11 civilians were martyred when the Indian forces targeted an ambulance and a passenger bus near the Dhudnial town in Neelum Valley along the Line of Control (LoC). The injured, whose number was more than seven, were shifted to local hospitals. On the same day, three Pakistani soldiers, also responding to unprovoked Indian firing, valiantly embraced martyrdom. Soon after, the army’s top brass held a special meeting at the Rawalpindi Corps to review the LoC situation focusing on the bus massacre.
The outgoing COAS, General Raheel Sharif, while appreciating the morale of troops and the most befitting response given by them, directed that any future violations must also get instant and effective response. In a hotline contact between the two DGMOs, the Pakistan Army DGMO warned his Indian counterpart for targeting a civilian bus with innocent civilians aboard and killing them. "We reserve the right to respond at the place and time of our choosing," he said.
Moreover, in a statement, the prime minister strongly condemned the unprovoked firing in the strongest words. He said the valiant Jawans of armed forces who embraced martyrdom are held in highest esteem. The whole nation will remember this sacrifice of Jawans who left no stone unturned while defending their beloved motherland.
“Despite our exercise of maximum restraint in the wake of continuing naked Indian aggression along LoC resulting in the martyrdom of innocent civilians including children and women, India has failed to comprehend the gravity of the situation. No responsible state can permit targeting innocent civilians in general and ambulances carrying the injured in particular,” Nawaz added.
It is clear that the domestic and indigenous unrest in Srinagar between the Kashmiris and the oppressing forces has reached dangerous levels. The tensions refuse to ebb but India still continues to blame unseen intruders coming from Pakistan for violence in the valley. The fact is that India is trying to divert the attention of the international community from the grave human rights violations and atrocities being committed by the Indian security forces in held Kashmir. However, the international media, especially the photographers of wire agencies showing the stone pelting youth, the crying women, the slain children, the mass blinding of people, is started to have an impact on the world conscience.
Thus, in today’s globalised world, it is impossible to hide the atrocities being committed by ruthless Indian forces.
