Islamabad
The Punjab Government has always given top priority to the total observance of merit in every field, including the education sector, so that best of the best stuff could be chosen for national development. In this regard, it’s heartening to note that merit based recruitment of more than 150,000 teachers has shown positive results in the education sector.
Meanwhile, recruitment of more than 100,000 additional teachers, in the current fiscal year, would catalyze positive results in the education sector of the Punjab. This would also help in achieving the core target of quality education.
Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) Chairman Engineer Qamar ul Islam Raja said this while addressing the launch of teachers training programme of newly recruited head masters and head mistresses at Government College for Elementary Teachers, Islamabad on Monday. The ceremony was largely attended by teachers and relevant officials of the school education department of Rawalpindi district.
While addressing the ceremony, Qamar ul Islam commended the fact that the Punjab government has always prioritized adherence to merit and said that this has helped to achieve the targets of good governance.

The training of teachers wholly helps in improving their capacity building which enables them to deliver better in the schools. The Directorate of Staff Development (DSD) of the Punjab government has been playing an important role in sensitizing the teachers about new educational concepts of education so that they could deliver better to their students.
The function was also addressed by College Principal Abida Shaheen who briefed the participants about different aspects of their training. EDO (Edu) Rawalpindi Qazi Zahoor ul Haq also spoke on the occasion. District Officer (Edu) Rawalpindi Qazi Tariq was present on the occasion as well.
