An advocate moved a petition before Lahore High Court challenging the recent elevation of 14 additional judges of LHC.
Petitioner counsel AK Dogar alleged that these appointments were made in violation of article 8 of the Constitution and should be declared null and void. He said a petitioner had already filed a petition requesting to make appointments of judges in accordance with the law and before decision of the petition 14 new judges had been appointed. He stated if the judges were allowed to act as the judges of LHC it would amount to great miscarriage of justice, damaging the very foundation of the country. —Correspondent
