Youth policy to be announced soon: minister
PESHAWAR: Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Mehmood Khan has said that a comprehensive youth policy will be announced soon to empower the young lot and exploit their talents and potentials.
Presiding over a meeting convened to review Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Youth Policy on Tuesday, Mehmood Khan said that the policy would provide a base for the betterment of youth regardless of social or economic status.
The meeting was also attended by Minister for Education Muhammad Atif Khan, District Nazim Peshawar, Asim Khan, Secretary for Sports, Tourism, Youth Affairs, Culture, Archaeology & Museums Tariq Khan, Section Officer Haseeb and other officials.
Mehmood Khan said that it was the main objective of the government to launch projects for the youth development in the province. The implementation of this policy, he said, would facilitate the youth to play a vibrant and active role in the progress and prosperity of the nation. During the meeting, the matters pertaining to the establishment of Youth Development Commission were also discussed.Minister Atif Khan said that the allocated budget for the completion of youth programmes in the province was Rs1 billion.
