Daish network unearthed, eight terrorists arrested

Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) unearthed Daish network in the city and arrested its eight members.
It was reported that an intelligence wing had been reconnoitering the terrorists for the last three months who were luring innocent citizens to Syria and Afghanistan through social media. Nabeel Abu Abdullah, who was among the arrested people, was leading the organisation in Punjab. CTD officials recovered literature, cellphones and a laptop from their possession. A case was registered against them at CTD police station Lahore.
Police discipline wing: Punjab Inspector General police Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera has said Discipline and Inspection wing should regularly inspect offices of Regional and District Police Officers and police stations in all districts of the province.
The IGP stated this while chairing a combined meeting of Welfare and Finance, Discipline and Inspection and Establishment wings held at Central Police Office on Thursday. He said detailed inspection of accounts and branches should be ensured and through proactive vigilance, it should be made sure that any accountant must not serve on same seat for more than designated time.
The IGP asked to send quarterly reports regarding performance of circle officers and show-cause notices should be issued to those who failed to perform.
The IGP said a check list should be developed regarding inspection of Regional and District Police Officers, Circle Offices, Police Stations and police lines. Discipline and Inspection teams designated to conduct inspection of these offices should maintain their reports in accordance with check list. He directed to ensure monthly inspection of sensitive installments and project sites in Punjab. It should be checked during inspection that whether DSPs and Security In charges regularly inspect check posts and ensure checking of weapons and bullet proof jackets of officials deployed on security duty and reports in this regard should be sent to Personal Staff Officer to IGP on regular basis. The IGP directed DIG Establishment to annually conduct skill test of officials recruited on technical basis and take departmental action against those officials not qualified according to recruitment criteria.
He directed to encourage the officials working with sincerity at dedication, at every level. While directing SSP Motor and Transport wing regarding project of establishing motor workshops on regional level, IGP asked to brief about the usefulness of workshops on regional level and whether these workshops will yield expected results or not.
The IGP also directed to improve quality standards of central police office canteen and to provide hygienic food facility to police officials on economical rates.
