Man booked for murdering wife

PAKPATTAN: Police on Sunday booked a man for allegedly murdering his wife.

Accused Sharafat Ali of Chak Abadi Zafar Kot Alverdi contracted marriage with Asma Bibi, d/o Muhammad Sadiq of Chak 61-GB, Faisalabad, on September 29, 2016. Later, Sharafat Ali called Muhammad Sadiq on October 21 and told him that Asma had committed suicide. However, on the complaint of Sadiq, police have registered a murder case against Sharafat Ali and started investigation.

VALUABLES LOOTED: Three dacoity incidents were reported here on Sunday.

Allah Rakha of Chak Saleem Kot was on his way when five dacoits snatched valuables from him. Shah Sawar of Chak 65-EB parked his bike outside a house. When he returned, he found it missing. Three dacoits entered the house of Rajan Bibi at Chak 27-EB and took away valuables. Police have registered cases.

SHOS TRANSFERRED: DPO Kamran Yousaf on Sunday transferred various SHOs here.

The DPO transferred Rang Shah police SHO Nisar Bhatti and posted him at Qaboola police SHO while Inspector Asghar Ali was appointed as the Rang Shah police SHO. Qaboola police SHO Sheikh Ejaz was transferred and posted as the Malka Hans police SHO.

COUPLE TORTURED: A couple was tortured over enmity at Chak 37-SP on Sunday.

Eight accused including Imam entered the house of Shamimi Bibi and allegedly tortured her and her husband. They also allegedly took away valuables from the house. Police have registered a case.

2 DRUG PUSHERS HELD: Police have arrested two drug pushers and recovered narcotics from them in separate incidents.

The police arrested Muhammad Azam with 1,080 grams charas and Abdul Ghaffar with 120 grams charas. The police have registered cases.

OBITUARY: The wife of Cooperative Bank manager Syed Hammad Raza died here on Sunday.

Scores of people attended her funeral prayers. Later, she was buried in a local graveyard.
