Rupee weakens

The rupee declined against the dollar on Thursday owing to increased demand for the foreign currency by importers, dealers said. The rupee lost five paisas to close at 104.75 to the greenback from the previous closing of 104.70 at the interbank market.

Currency dealers said the local unit came under pressure, as importers bought dollars to pay their bills.
