Swat-based terrorist arrested by CTD

In a raid conducted in the Site Area on Sunday, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Sunday arrested a terrorist affiliated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Swat’s Bin Amin group. 

According to Mazhar Mashwani, chief of the CTD’s wing that deals with Pakistan-based terrorist groups, the arrested suspect is named Rehman alias Gulab and he had been involved multiple attacks on army personnel, convoys and checkpoints in District Swat. 

The officer said several of Rehman’s accomplices had been killed in operations in and around Swat, and he had fled to Karachi to seek refuge as law enforcers were tracking him down in the northern areas. A pistol and a grenade were found in his possession.

 

Rangers arrests

The Sindh Rangers conducted targeted raids in Korangi, Orangi and Golimar, in which four criminals were arrested.

A spokesperson said the arrested men include a one MQM member, one banned outfit militant, one Lyari gangster and one extortionist. Weapons and ammunition was also recovered. 

Moreover, during snap checks in Korangi, Malir and the Hub Chowki area, eight suspects were arrested with weapons.
