LAHORE
Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) Chairperson Prof Dr Muhammad Nizamuddin has said the commission has recently finalised the funding for post-doctorate fellowships, foreign PhD and foreign master's scholarships as a part of its Foreign Faculty Development Programme.
Addressing a meeting of senior management committee, he said PHEC was committed to enhancing the skills of academic faculty through various initiatives of the faculty development programme.
On the occasion, separate committees were formed to review applications for respective faculty development programmes. Dr Nizam said it was for the first time that college faculty had been put under special focus on award of doctoral and post-doc fellowships, adding that not only this, PHEC exclusively awarded master's scholarships under Chief Minister’s Faculty Development Programme to college faculty in various fields for advanced countries. He also said the selected candidates would be pursuing their degrees at top-ranking universities of the world in the UK, Europe, Canada, Australia and the US.
