LAHORE:  Punjab IT Board (PITB) in collaboration with Peaceful Pakistan celebrated Independence Day at Arfa Software Technology Park with an exclusive feature by draping a 100ft long and 120ft wide national flag on 13 storeys of the Arfa Tower.

The entire building was decorated with flags, buntings and green and white balloons. The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by a string of patriotic songs that filled the air with a fresh passion of nationalism while the charged crowd sung along and chanted ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans. All the audiences united in one accord to sing the national anthem while DG E-Governance Sajid Latif hoisted the flag on behalf of PITB Chairman Dr. Umar Saif.

Special prayers for peace, prosperity and integrity of Pakistan were offered followed by a cake cutting ceremony. The event concluded with a commitment to work hard for a brighter, better Pakistan. PITB Chairman Dr. Umar Saif in his special message on this occasion said “We must thank Almighty Allah and pay tribute to the founders of Pakistan who gave us such a precious gift of freedom. We must pray for the security, prosperity and stability of Pakistan as it has given us identity, freedom and respect in the world.”
