‘Steroids’ claim life of another bodybuilder

GUJRANWALA: Another bodybuilder died due to the alleged use of steroids at Bakhtewala, raising the death toll to four during the last four months.
Irfan Butt, 25, was preparing for a bodybuilding competition scheduled to be held on August 14. He was allegedly using steroids to develop his muscles. On Thursday, he felt chest pain and was shifted to a hospital where he died.
Meanwhile, the relatives claimed that Irfan Butt had left bodybuilding for the last many years and he had taken no steroids. They further claimed that he died due to a heart attack. The death of four bodybuilders in Gujranwala has shocked the people. Though the cause of death in all four cases could not be determined as no postmortem was done, the practice of using steroids by the bodybuilders may be the main reason behind the deaths.

GUJRANWALA: Banners requesting Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif not to retire have cropped up in the city.
A number of such banners can be seen in different parts of the city. Meanwhile, Gujranwala Marble Association president Mian Gulzar Ahmad, in his statement, lauded the services of Gen Raheel Sharif for bringing peace in Karachi, Fata and Balochistan. He said that it was the need of hour that Gen Raheel Sharif should stay as the army chief. He said that extension should be given to Gen Raheel Sharif as he was the only person, who could address the country’s issues.
