Will Pakistan ever go from being a developing country to a developed country? A question I often ask myself. And the education system of Pakistan, unfortunately, has given me very little hope so far. The curriculum is not at all designed to challenge students, to spark interest in various subjects or to inspire them to aim for greatness. All it is doing is promoting rote learning and the grades rat-race. Even though the education system is focusing almost solely on ‘career-oriented’ subjects, they are still teaching students the most basic stuff, making it impossible for students to come on par with international students.

Given the rapid developments happening in our world right now, Pakistan also needs to focus on its education system. This is one of the basic rights of the children of Pakistan and they deserve an education system which would not only allow them to achieve their dreams but also realise what those dreams are. The education system needs to ensure that proper guidance and counselling is provided for each and every student and that the curriculum is up to par with international standards.
