This refers to the letter, ‘The PTI responds’ (June 29) by Naeemul Haq. I have been following the articles of Babar Sattar since long and have no reservations on the impartiality ,objectivity, and candidness in his approach. Contrary to the apprehensions of the PTI’s information secretary, the writer has been supporting or criticising PTI wherever due.
It seems the idea of mainstreaming of madressah students was not properly deliberated upon. The students of madressahs need vocational and technical training to provide them job opportunities in the market. In addition they should be imparted knowledge of sociology, ethics, and globalisation to broaden their outlook. Simply studying mathematics and sciences may not change their world view and tolerance levels. The question, though, remains: can taxpayers’ money be allocated to a private entity? The consequences of mainstreaming of immigrants in Belgium, France and Germany could have also been taken into account by the PTI.
