Eid, Muharram security measures discussed
LAHORE:A delegation of the Peace Committee consisting of religious scholars from various sects met with DIG Operations Faisal Kamran at his office on Monday. The delegation included prominent figures such as Maulana Asad Ubaid, M Nasir Ahrar, Aziz-ur-Rehman, Babar Farooq Rahimi, Rana Nasrullah, Shakeel-ur-Rehman, and others.
The meeting involved a comprehensive discussion on security arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha and Muharram, among other topics. DIG Operations briefed the scholars on the regulations issued by the Home Department regarding the collection of animal hides and donations, as well as on the list of banned organizations. The religious scholars shared their suggestions concerning Eid-ul-Azha security. Acting on the recommendations, Faisal Kamran issued instructions to the relevant officers for necessary action. He emphasized that religious scholars play a vital role in maintaining peace and order in the city. “Through a joint strategy, even major challenges can be overcome,” he stated. The scholars reaffirmed their commitment to cooperating with the police in efforts to ensure law and order during sensitive occasions.
IG meets cops’ families
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, met with police employees and their families at the Central Police Office. IG Punjab listened to the issues of police employees and issued orders for immediate relief. According to details, on the request for transfer submitted by Police Station Assistant Zainab Shoaib, AIG Admin and Security was directed to provide relief.
On the request for financial assistance submitted by Constable M Qasid, DIG Welfare and Finance was directed to provide relief. On the request for transfer submitted by Police Station Assistant Shaista Aziz, AIG Admin and Security was directed to provide relief. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar also issued orders on other applications related to discipline, administration, promotion, and welfare.
