More thunderstorm, heavy rainfall likely

LAHORE:Hot and partly cloudy weather was recorded in the City here on Sunday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours. Met officials warned that wind, dust-thunderstorm, lightning, hailstorm and heavy falls may damage electric poles, trees, vehicles and solar panels etc from Monday to Tuesday.

They said moist currents were penetrating in upper and central parts of the country while a

fresh westerly wave was likely to enter western/upper parts of the country from tomorrow (Monday).

They predicted that hot and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country. However, rain-windstorm/thunderstorm was likely in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Potohar region and North/Southeast Balochistan during evening/night while isolated heavy falls/ hailstorm may occur during the period.

Rainfall was recorded at Narowal, Hafizabad, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Jhang, Gujrat, Sargodha, Mandi Bahauddin, Joharabad, Mangla, Jhelum, Sheikhupura, Kasur and Kotli. Sunday’s maximum temperature was recorded at Nokkundi, Sakrand, Chhor and Mithi

where mercury reached 46°C, while in Lahore, it was 36°C.
