GUJRANWALA: The FIA arrested an alleged human trafficker at Shakargarh on Sunday. The FIA team raided Jinnah Road and arrested accused Mukhtar Ahmad. He was involved in sending people abroad through bogus documents.
PRE-MONSOON PLAN: Commissioner Muhammad Asif has directed the departments concerned to strictly implement the pre-monsoon plan to avoid losses during the expected heavy rains and floods.
Presiding over a meeting to review pre-monsoon arrangements here on Sunday, he directed the DCOs to monitor the precautionary measures. He also directed the authorities concerned to strengthen and fully equip the district disaster management authorities. He issued directives for acquiring tents, mosquito nets, blankets, life-saving jackets, boats, dewatering pumps, fire engines and ambulances.
