PFF Congress on 27th
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has called an Extraordinary Congress for the third time on February 27, to end the impasse that surfaced from the rejection of constitutional changes.
The agenda for the Congress includes revision of the PFF Constitution (2014) as per recommendations from FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and approval of the minutes from the Extraordinary Congress meeting held on January 24, 2025.
Pakistan’s participation in the AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers is contingent upon the lifting of FIFA’s suspension on PFF. For the first time, Pakistan will take part in the prestigious event, set to begin with an away match against Syria on March 25, 2025. Pakistan placed in Group E with Syria, Myanmar and Afghanistan.
The Congress has been convened in direct response to the FIFA Council’s letter dated February 6, 2025, which states that the suspension of the PFF can only be lifted upon the approval of the revised constitution in line with FIFA and AFC directives.
