Three alleged robbers were gunned down in two different police encounters on Wednesday.
According to details, three armed men on a motorcycle were robbing vehicles near Benot Market, opposite Sugar Cane Market situated in Sohrab Goth in SITE Super Highway Industrial Area police limits, when a patrolling police mobile passed by.
As per the police, an exchange of fire was initiated by the robbers and the retaliated to injure two men, while the third fled. Two 9MM pistols, eight mobile phones and a motorcycle were seized from their possession.
The injured - identified as Abdullah, 25, and Aziz, 30 - were pronounced dead on arrival at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
In a similiar incident, three muggers were spotted by a police team as they were robbing people near Kakri Ground in Lyari. Officials said a shootout ensued in which one of the suspects was fatally injured, while the other made a getaway. A 9MM pistol was recovered from the injured, Sadoor Khan, 30, who died en route to the Civil Hospital.
