Lahore emerge Inter-Division champs in Khelta Punjab Games
LAHORE: Lahore emerged as the overall champions in the 5-day Inter-Division Khelta Punjab Games 2024-25 which concluded here at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex.
Lahore Division topped with 16 gold medals and were followed by Faisalabad and Gujranwala who claimed 12 and 11 golds respectively from among 2,200 athletes competed in the Games. The football final saw an upset, with Gujranwala Division defeating the strong Faisalabad team 5-3 on penalties.
Chief guest at the concluding ceremony was Provincial Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar. Cash prizes and electric bikes worth Rs 50 crore were awarded to the players. Secretary Sports Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial stated on the occasion that 58 sports facilities have been revived and multi-purpose complexes will be built in 52 constituencies that previously lacked sports infrastructure.
