LAHORE : Lahore police have intensified their crackdown on individuals involved in one-wheeling.
In a series of operations conducted throughout the year, authorities have arrested 1,884 offenders and registered 1,656 cases against them. According to a statement from the Lahore Police spokesperson, the arrests were made across various police divisions in the city. The highest number of arrests was reported in the Model Town division, where 446 offenders were apprehended. This was followed by Civil Lines (340 arrests), Cantt (304), Iqbal Town (215), Saddar (304), and City Division (275).
Two robbers arrested
Harbanspura police arrested two robbers and recovered five bikes and two pistols from their possession. The accused identified as Zohaib and Asif were involved in 45 cases of thefts and robberies.
Hawala Hundi gang busted
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested a group involved in Hawala Hundi from Lahore on Saturday.
The FIA Corporate Crime Circle Lahore conducted an operation in Shah Alam Market Chowk and caught the accused involved in the Hawala Hundi business red-handed. The accused include Abdul Wali, Abbas Khan, Zafar, Sarfaraz Khan and Haris Khan. The FIA spokesperson said that Rs30 million was recovered from the accused Abdul Wali and Abbas Khan, and Hawala Hundi receipts, phones and other evidence were seized from them.
