Six universities get VCs

LAHORE:The Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab Thursday notified Vice Chancellors (VCs) of six public sector universities.

Prof Dr Sajjad Mubin has been appointed as VC University of Okara, Prof Dr Saeed Ahmad as VC Thal University, Bhakkar, Prof Dr Ashfaq Ahmad as VC Ghazi University, Dera Ghazi Khan, Prof Dr Yasir Nawab as VC University of Kamalia, Prof Dr M Zubair Abu Bakar as VC University of Layyah and Prof Dr Faheem Aftab as VC of University of Jhang.

Earlier on October 29, the HED Punjab had notified VCs of six universities and before that on September 23, the department had notified VCs of seven public sector universities of the province.

Meanwhile, the HED Punjab has also issued notification extending the additional charge of the post of VC of University of Home Economics in favour of Prof Dr Syeda Faleeha Zahra Kazmi who has been holding the additional charge of the post since August 2023. The Punjab government has extended the additional charge for Prof Kazmi at the University of Home Economics for up to six months, effective from November 4, 2024, or until a regular Vice Chancellor is appointed, whichever comes first.
