Constitutional advice
Though the recent 26th Amendment has remained at the centre of attention in national as well as international media debates, the game does not end here. The government has shown its intent to pass a 27th amendment in the near future. Though I am not an expert in legal or constitutional matters, being a citizen of this land, I have some advices to share. To strengthen democratic processes, the federal government should add an article to our constitution that ensures that candidates actually belong to the area that they seek to represent.
This will not just help locals to approach that elected representative easily, but also guarantee that their representatives understand local their issues and grievances. Continuity of development projects after change of government and a minimum time gap between constitutional amendments also deserve their own articles.
