PESHAWAR: The college professors have demanded the provincial government to ensure their placement against their promoted positions at the earliest so that they could be relieved of the mental agony and financial loss.

In a press statement, some senior professors said that their PSB was held on March 4, 2024, but their placement against their promoted position could not be made, depriving them of two increments.

The non-placement affected at least 67 professors of BPS-20 and 225 associate professors of BPS 19. On the other hand, the PSB of secretariat employees was held on June 6 and their adjustment was made a month later. Moreover, the PSB of some more employees of the secretariat was held on August 16 and they were adjusted on September 4.

The said that the Higher Education Department was using delaying tactics that has caused serious unrest among the college teachers. They demanded the provincial government to take notice of the situation and ensure their early placement, otherwise, they would be left with no other choice but to go on complete strike and class-boycott in all the colleges across the province.
