Wahab suspends engineers
Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has taken notice of the damage to MA Jinnah Road during the recent rains and suspended the engineers responsible for the road construction.
The mayor also stopped payment to the MA Jinnah Road contractor. The road was constructed at Numaish a few weeks before the rainfall. According to a Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) order issued on August 28, KMC assistant executive engineers Waqas Ahmed Khan and Abdul Jabbar were relieved from all their assignments and directed to report to the KMC’s technical office.
Meanwhile, Assistant Executive Engineer Syed Zahoor Abbas Rizvi has been posted in District East, Karachi Division. He will look after development work in the district and provisional development schemes “with immediate effects till further orders.”
