Narrow roads

Multan Road remains choked because of a bus stand near the NHA office. Facing Multan, the bus stand is on the right side of the road and passengers alighting from buses on the left side of the road have to cross the main road to reach the bus stand. With increased traffic, the two lanes each on both sides of the road are not enough to take the load of heavy and light traffic heading towards the M-2 motorway or to the city.

The section of Multan Road from the Motorway overhead bridge to Chung needs to be widened. The Motorway Police submitted a proposal to the Punjab chief minister seven months ago for adding a lane each on both sides of the road but no action has been taken on it yet. Instead of creating signal-free zones in posh areas of the provincial metropolis, the exit and entry roads to the city should have been widened. Will the chief minister take action to ease the miseries road-users face daily?
