4,441 arrested for kite flying, selling this year
LAHORE:Punjab Police's crackdown on metallic kite strings and kite flyers continues across all districts of the province, including Lahore.
Punjab Police spokesperson said that since February 26, 4,306 cases had been registered, and 4,441 accused involved in this dangerous sport and trade had been arrested. Seizures from the culprits included 247,078 kites and 17,089 spools of metallic string.
Inspector General Police Punjab (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar has instructed RPOs, CPOs, and DPOs to intensify the uninterrupted crackdown across the province, ensuring that those involved in the online business of kites and metallic strings are apprehended and given appropriate punishments.
IG Punjab emphasised that criminals endangering human lives deserve no leniency , Dr Usman Anwar ordered that targeted operations led by circle officers should be intensified across the province.
