NOWSHERA: An elderly and disabled resident of Ganderi area of the district has alleged that his nephew, in connivance with certain influential people, has seized his agricultural land and a four-kanal house.
Syed Qamar, along with his son and other relatives, told a press conference that the land grabbers had also expelled his widowed sister-in-law and her children from the house. He said that when they approached the Risalpur Police Station for help, the police, instead of assisting them, threatened to lock them up. Syed Qamar has appealed to the chief justice of Peshawar High Court, chief minister and inspector general of police for justice against his nephew and the influential individuals involved.
Flanked by his son Fazal Akbar and nephew Irshad in Nowshera Press Club, Syed Qamar stated that they had leased 22 kanals and 4 marlas of agricultural land to his nephew Asad Khan. Asad Khan, he alleged, had taken signatures on a stamp paper, claiming it was an agreement for the lease, but later wrote that the land had been sold to him.
