Three suspects arrested who committed robberies in guise of policemen
The Karachi police have arrested three dacoits belonging to a wanted four-member gang that committed robberies while impersonating as policemen.
The arrests were recently made after a police encounter in the Pak Colony area of Karachi. The fourth member of the gang succeeded to flee the scene after an exchange of fire.
Keamari SSP Captain (retd) Faizan Ali said the robbers used a Corolla car bearing a fake official number plate and wore police uniform. Three 9MM pistols and two police uniforms were seized from the arrested men’s possession. Police also impounded their Corolla car.
The SSP said the arrested men had been identified as Babar Ali, Ghulam Ali and Raja Ali and their accomplice who fled was Faraz Ali. The officer added that suspects were part of an inter-provincial gang that committed robberies in Karachi and interior Sindh. During the interrogation, the arrested suspects reportedly revealed that they had sold many motorcycles and cars in Balochistan after snatching them from the Super Highway, Sharea Faisal and Baloch Colony areas.
Six FIRs pertaining to theft of motorcycles were registered against the suspects at the Sharea Faisal police station. A total of 16 cases have been registered against Babar in Karachi and interior Sindh and 11 cases have been registered against Ghulam. There are three cases registered against Raja.
