Team not to come back home together
PORT LAUDERDALE (Florida): Around half of the Pakistan cricket members have planned not to head back home -- instead they are calculating other options to avoid the wrath of the fans back home.
An insider told The News that the team has been booked back home on June 17.
A few members have expressed their desire to take a different flight to either stay back in the US or to head for England.
Cricketers who are unlikely to travel back on Monday include Haris Rauf, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir and a few others.
When an accompanying team official was approached he said he had yet to receive the team’s traveling plan which is expected anytime now.
“Once we have that plan we will be in a better position to say what the traveling destination of each player is. We cannot say anything final till the time we receive the team’s plan,” the official said.
News reaching here from Pakistan suggests that security arrangements are in order to protect cricketers reaching different major cities most probably on Tuesday to avoid any unpleasant scenes.
The cricket fans back in Pakistan are furious over what they say was a shocking display by the team members.
They blame poor selection, bad captaincy, and lack of effort by the majority of team members as reasons of early exit.
