‘Controversial’ post FIA grills Imran for an hour
The investigation took place at Adiala Jail where the former prime minister is incarcerated
RAWALPINDI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Friday grilled Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder chairman Imran Khan for an hour for uploading a controversial post on his official X account, asking him 16 questions.
The investigation took place at Adiala Jail where the former prime minister is incarcerated.
Earlier, Imran, after refusing twice, agreed to join the probe and record his statement on the condition that his lawyers would be present.
According to jail sources, the FIA team showed Imran the video and questioned him about its content and origin.
The FIA team included Additional Director Ayaz Ahmed and Sub-Inspector Munib, while Imran’s lawyers Chaudhry Zaheer Abbas and Intizar Panjotha were also present.
On May 30, the FIA Cybercrime Circle began an inquiry into a controversial social media post made by Imran Khan on May 26. The post, addressing the 1971 civil war and the Hamoodur Rahman Commission report, was made from his official X account.
